PEACHTREE CITY, USA – Jodie Harmon took her first steps into the aviation industry as a high school student, when she became an intern at Aventure Aviation. Today, she is an advanced procurement agent at Boeing, a role achieved from years of dedication and hard work., and a passion for aviation.
Jodie joined Aventure through her high school’s Work-Based Learning (WBL) program, working as a global sales intern from August 2017 to August 2018.
She gained hands-on experience with aviation aftermarket parts and learned how critical Aventure’s role is in ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Her main roles included data collection, data analysis, and conducting data analytics on pricing trends and inventory counts. She credits Aventure for helping her to develop the essential skills that shaped her career.
“It was my first job ever, and I was so excited,” Jodie recalls. “Before, I didn’t really understand how airlines and the military obtained these parts. It was eye-opening.”
“At Aventure, I could ask a lot of questions freely without judgment,” Jodi says. “I was curious about how airlines used these parts.”
Exposure to sales calls, database management, and customer engagement techniques also proved invaluable. “I really appreciated when people pulled me aside to teach me something new or include me on a project,” she added.
Even then, Jodie dreamed of working at Boeing. She pursued her passion by earning a scholarship to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Aviation Business Administration with a focus on supply chain logistics.
Her determination led to two Boeing internships in 2020 and 2021, eventually securing a full-time role in 2022. She was recently promoted to supply chain procurement agent for 787 In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) parts.
