PEACHTREE CITY, USA – Aventure will join those celebrating the Lunar New Year later this month. The holiday starts January 28, which is Lunar New Year’s eve, and lasts until the Lantern Festival concludes February 12.
Also known as the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, 2025 is the year of the snake, symbolizing wisdom, transformation, and personal growth. This year is more specifically the year of the wood snake, a rare and significant combination that only occurs once every 60 years.
The Chinese zodiac is based on a 12-year cycle, with each year represented by an animal sign.
“I grew up in the historic city of Xi’an, where the new year marks a time for family reunions and to honor cherished customs,” said Xiaohang (Steven) Qu, Aventure’s director of sales for China and Eastern Asia, based in New York City.
“Our home comes alive as loved ones gather around the kitchen table, sharing stories and preparing jiaozi dumplings, which represent good fortune,” said Steven.
“Even in New York, my family keeps this new year tradition strong. We make our own jiaozi, using methods passed down from my parents in Xi’an. The Manhattan skyline contrasts sharply with the ancient walls of my hometown, but it provides a wonderful backdrop for our new year celebration.”
