State of Georgia Presents GLOBE Exporting Award to Aventure

PEACHTREE CITY, USA – The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) has recognized Aventure Aviation as a 2018 Georgia Launching Opportunities by Exporting (GLOBE) award winner for having opened up new international market export sales in 2017. The award was presented March 20 at the 2018 Go Global Reception at the Atlanta History Center by Governor Nathan Deal.

Each year the Georgia Department of Economic Development begins a new search for Georgia companies that are making headway in new international markets. The annual GLOBE Awards program began in 2014 as a way to recognize local businesses contributing to Georgia’s economic growth through global trade.

The export successes these companies have achieved are indicative of Georgia’s global economic impact and its reputation as an international logistics hub. With the largest single-container port in North America and the world’s most traveled airport, Georgia’s  logistics infrastructure provides its businesses seamless access to export markets. In 2016, total trade between Georgia and the world exceeded $121.7 billion and exports reach more than $35.6 billion.

Aventure′s Director of Sales Hamzah Faruqi received the award from Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, who cited Aventure′s international exports to a packed room of exporters, business and community members. Aventure has received the award every year since 2013.

“It was an honor meeting the Governor and being part of such a great event. We aim to continue exporting to new markets and make the list again next year,” said Mr. Faruqi. “We wouldn’t be here without our great Aventure team and the amazing support we receive from the Georgia Department of Economic Development.”
