Aventure Defeats Panasonic in Cricket Match

PEACHTREE CITY, USA – The Aventure Aviation Flyers defeated the Panasonic Panthers 137–87 in a friendly cricket rematch two years in the making, held at Riley Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, USA.

Aventure’s victory was a reward for their dedication to regular practice over the previous month. But the real reward was the good-natured competition and camaraderie experienced by both teams, their coworkers, and families. Around 150 people attended the family-friendly event, which also included a bouncy castle for kids, popcorn, cotton candy, and a food truck.

Mostly played in British Commonwealth countries, the match provided a unique opportunity for expatriates to watch it live locally, and also gave native residents of Peachtree City the chance to enjoy a unique sporting experience.

“It’s always great to participate in activities outside of the office with coworkers. I’m looking forward to the next match,” said Duncan Midkiff, an account manager with Aventure. “The match was a good example of camaraderie,” added Jarrod Parker, a purchasing assistant for Aventure.

Employees from Aventure and Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America first faced off in April 2015. The idea for that match came from a meeting hosted at the Fayette Chamber of Commerce after Panasonic contacted them hoping to find ways to help new employees and their families from India assimilate and connect more with the community.

Aventure jumped at the opportunity to play in the first official cricket match held in Fayette County, Georgia, even though their skills were no match for the much more experienced Panasonic team.

Aventure lost by a huge margin, but everyone considered the event a success. “We’ll get them next time!,” Parker successfully predicted after the 2015 match.

The Fayette Chamber is a vibrant network of businesses and organizations working  to promote economic prosperity and strengthen the Fayette Country community.

Panasonic is one of the largest product manufacturers in the world, while Aventure Aviation is a leading aftermarket aviation parts supplier.
