Duffel Bags Delivered to Foster Children by Aventure Staff

PEACHTREE CITY, USA – Aventure Aviation team members raised money throughout May to provide duffel bags for local foster children in support of National Foster Care Month.

There are currently over half a million children in foster care in the United States, with approximately 1,200 entering every day. They are usually provided with trash bags to move their belongings.

The duffel bags were filled with new comfort items such as blankets, teddy bears, activity books, crayons, and hygiene kits. Team members also decorated each bag with encouraging messages and drawings. The items were delivered to The Bloom Closet, a non-profit that provides Georgia′s foster children with free clothing, shoes, baby gear, books, toys, and school supplies in a whimsical children′s boutique environment.

For this initiative, Aventure partnered with Together We Rise, a non-profit comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care. They are always looking for organizations, houses of worship, or community groups to join the movement to replace trash bags with duffel bags.
